Freezer Meal Guidelines

We are going to meet the second Wed of each month at rotating houses. We should arrive with our meals, already frozen. We also decided that we want to exchange a baked good each month. We will decide them as we go. These can be eaten at home, frozen for later or taken to VT or friends.

To make this a successful group and a rewarding experience (ie. to make all our lives easier), there are some rules:

* You will be required to make and freeze 10 meals to exchange with the group- 2 are for you...

* Each meal should feed six adults (ex. Casserole would be 9x13 pan)

* Your meal is designed to be the main dish. You do not need to provide any other sides, but please provide any uncooked rice, pasta, or buns that are needed to complete the main dish.

* Package the meal in a disposable container, such as a Frozen Ziploc Bag- get as much air out as you can or Aluminum Casserole Pan covered with saran wrap then Aluminum Foil to avoid freezer burn.

* Write on the packaging the Meal Title, Directions to cook from thawed, and the Month/Year.

* You probably want to bring Frozen Meals in a cooler, and leave with your meals in the cooler.

* If you don't come with your meals, you can pick your meals up later when you hand deliver the meals to each person.

* Post the recipe to the blog the day we exchange. Include all ingredients and directions, any sides that will go well with the meal.
